Secondary Labeling
Secondary labeling is required every time a chemical is transferred from its original container to another container, the “secondary container.” Secondary containers must include:
- Product Name
- Hazardous Chemicals
- Appropriate Hazard Warnings: words, pictures, symbols
The Safetec System™ has a Secondary Container Labeling module that easily creates and prints labels in multiple formats, including: NFPA, HMIS, WHMIS, GHS or you can use your own rating system.

Safetec’s Container Labeling Module easily creates and prints secondary container labels in multiple formats, including: NFPA, HMIS, WHMIS or you can use your own rating system.
Safetec’s labeling system is completely customizable and can be modified to accommodate almost any label size, type or style. You can even use the NFPA or HMIS-type graphics to print on blank labels. Labels can be designed to automatically merge with any MSDS information contained in your chemical database, such as manufacturer, target organs, CAS Number, PPE and other critical data.
Safetec’s Container Labeling Module integrates with all Safetec CCM software modules, making it easy for employees to print all necessary labels.
