Environmental Reporting

Many Environmental Managers struggle to comply with regulations due to the sheer volume of data required to perform the computations and evaluate regulatory reporting risk. These professionals, also challenged with analyzing and understanding the impact of procured chemicals on their business operations, turn to Safetec to help them correlate accurate chemical inventory data with regulatory reference data. Using The Safetec System’s automated tools to satisfy regulatory requirements and reporting results in:

  • Improved environmental compliance
  • Significant time savings through the automation of tedious manual processes
  • Decrease in EPA violations and fines
  • Reduced operational shut down risk

In addition, Safetec closely monitors global regulatory agencies and keeps an up-to-date regulatory database so clients can rest assured every search performed on chemicals in their system will be met with real-time, accurate information.

EPCRA

Organizations subject to EPCRA (Emergency Planning and Community Right-to-Know Act) typically devote many hours to the frustrating job of retrieving the necessary information to prepare SARA reports and then spend many additional hours performing extensive calculations and producing the reports. Safetec provides a much simpler, effective way of dealing with these reports with state-of-the-art reporting software modules, updated regulatory content and expert EHS professional services.

SARA 311/312 Reporting (Tier I and II Module)

Safetec’s Tier I and II module automates and streamlines the generation of reports required by SARA Title III Sections 311 and 312.

Safetec’s comprehensive formulas automatically calculate the information necessary to compile your reports including:

  • Automatic calculations across entire chemical database
  • Automated cross-reference of EHS lists to flag exceeded thresholds
  • Final reports generated on-demand
  • Supports lower city/county/state thresholding

  • New York City FIF
  • California Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP)
  • Louisiana Tier II

  • State specific submission formats

  • Tier2Submit
  • Tier2Manager
  • E-Plan
  • CERS – coming in 2013

The Tier II reporting module also cross-references SARA 302 and other hazardous substance lists to determine if thresholds have been exceeded, supplies the additional data if required then produces a final report. Reports can be customized for local, state and other federal requirements.

Form R Module

The Form R Module collects and analyzes all chemical-related information required for final reporting including: exemptions, usage, chemical category and PBT(persistent, bioaccumulative and toxic chemical) data then generates a spreadsheet identifying chemicals/chemical categories. Specifically, the Form R Module:

  • Identifies SARA 313 Toxics products
  • Identifies products that may contain reportable chemical categories
  • Highlights products with missing ingredient and/or other required data
  • Supplies summary or detailed transaction histories for each usage
  • Converts measurement units to pounds
  • Reports exemptions at product or location levels

The Form R module not only automates reporting but also identifies possible compliance issues for resolution.

State and City Reporting

Safetec reporting systems have been customized to meet many state and local requirements such as:

  • California Prop. 65
  • New York 209-u
  • Michigan PIPP
  • New Jersey RTK Hazardous Substance List
  • Pennsylvania Hazardous Substances List
  • Additional reports available

Safetec will also design customized reports for your specific state or local needs.
